What are cookies?
Cookie files (Cookies) are IT data, usually in the form of text files, which are stored on the User’s device and are meant for the use of Websites. Cookies usually contain the name of the website from which the cookies have come from, information about how long the cookies will remain on the User’s device and a unique number.
Cookies are used in order to:
- adjust the content of Websites to the User’s preferences and optimise the use of websites; in particular, the cookies enable the website to recognise the User’s device and display the website correctly and adjusted to individual preferences;

The website uses two basic types of cookies:
- session cookies – temporary files stored on the User’s device until the User logs out, leaves the website or turns off the software (Internet browser),
- persistent cookies – files stored on the User’s device for a period specified in cookie files parameters or until they are deleted by the User.
Types of cookies
The following types of cookies can be used on the Website:
- ‘essential’ cookies that enable the use of services available on the Website, e.g. authentication cookies used for services requiring authentication within the Website;
- cookies used to ensure security, e.g. used to detect fraud in authentication within the Website;
- ‘analytics’ cookies that enable collecting information about the use of Websites;
- ‘functional’ cookies that ‘remember’ settings selected by the User and customise the User’s interface, for example as regards the selected language or the region the User is in, the font size, appearance of the website, etc.;
- ‘advertising’ cookies that enable delivering interest-based advertising content to Users.
Deleting cookies
Actions connected with storing and sending cookies are handled by Internet browsers and are invisible for the user. Most browsers enable cookies by default. Users can refuse cookies or selectively accept certain cookies by adjusting the preferences in the browser.
